Hungary State Opera Theatre

Even if you are not a few fans of the Opera, is almost mandatory make a visit to the Hungary State Opera Theatre. The Opera is located in the elegant Andrássy Avenue, where you will find numerous places of interest, as well as restaurants and cafes.

The building fits very well with the elegant neighborhood where houses on Andrássy Avenue. The largest Hungarian architect Miklós Ybl, designed the building for the Millennium celebrations in the 19th century. Construction began in 1875 and the building was completed in 1884. The building cost much money, and is that the Auditorium was decorated with more than 7 kilos of gold. Hundreds of statues and paintings decorate the Budapest Opera House both inside and outside.

The Opera House from the outside: the statues of the composers of the world, including Mozart, Beethoven, Verdi’s largest adorn the main façade. Wrought iron lamps decorate the main entrance along with two towering stone Sphinxes. On the right will find the entry for artists, while to the left there is a transport of round-trip to Royal Flush.

The Opera from the inside: the interior boasts an impressive entrance hall with a Grand double staircase of marble and gray columns support the arches. Many works by Hungarian artists decorate the interior. The three plants, give the Opera with a capacity of nearly 1,300 people. On the ceiling you can see the impressive frescoes of Lotz Karoly who represent the Olympus and the Greek gods. A huge Golden Spider lamp hangs from the ceiling.
