After the defeat in Mohács, the Turks sacked and burned to Buda and Pest suffered under Turkish rule for 150 years. Óbuda also remained destroyed, the Old Buddha. As shown in the engravings of the time, Buddha appeared in Turkish domes, including the thermal baths. These domes even today preserve the memory of that time.
