There is no better way to start the month of August 2010 to observe the Hungarian Grand Prix on August 1st. Also known as Formula 1 Magyar Nagydij its first edition in 1936 but thanks to the Iron Curtain the sport has found a global audience and fanfare for the next three decades. More than two decades the policy saw dark clouds hovering over the race.
Fortunately with the attention of the F1 association from Russia to Hungary and the country’s interest to attract a global audience and, finally, in 1986 the first race took place. The event was a huge success with more than 200,000 F1 fans came to pay tribute.
