Puskas Ferenc Stadium is one of the biggest stadiums in Europe and is ranked 22nd on a list of stadiums worldwide. The site was known under the name of Nepstadion (National Stadium) until 2002 when he received the name Puskas Ferenc, the legendary footballer.

The construction of the National Stadium began on July 13, 1948 and ended on August 20, 1953. Its first director was Imre Nemeth, an Olympic champion.
